BIO> Born David M. Tangredi in Silver Spring, Maryland October 26th 1978. Tan was subsequently dropped dead center between two urban mecca’s: the go-go music of Washington D.C. and the club/house sound of Baltimore. These two very different urban musical styles helped to have early influence on Tan's style of interactive party rap. However it was hip-hop that allowed Tan to first start expressing himself lyrically through poetry. It was also this expression that opened his creative door to songwriting, DJ'n, guitar playing and other musical talents. A time capsule buried by Hammond Middle School in 1990 holds proof of Tan's early commitment to the art of rapping with a piece he put together at age 11 called "The Middle School Blues". Tan continued to develop his skills through freestyle and party rap and by the mid 90's was already experimenting with implementing his rap with different music genres such as Rock and Techno. In 1996, Tan recorded a flimsy three-song demo with the help of Top Secret Productions in Baltimore, DJ Xcluesive in D.C., and his electronic counterpart at the time DJ Pearl. This demo contains early versions of "Bandwagon M.C.'s" and "Take it Slow" songs that later became popular with Tan's Orlando fanbase through his second self-released audio work, "Can't Wait Till Spring" and his live performances with live hip-hop 6-piece band Tandem. Shortly after he cut his first demo, Tan attended Omega Studios of Recording Arts and Applied Sciences where he received degree's in Audio Production and Live Sound. A couple of years later, growing pains helped Tan decide to try his hand in another city, the reputation of Orlando's growing entertainment industry convinced him to move in 1998 in pursuit of a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida. In 1999 Tan formed Check Plus Productionz with partner and labelmate Chris Cucci and under it released his first official album, "Unrestricted Derivatives". A year later, Tan shocked the Orlando hip-hop community by shuffling through 22 of Orlando's hometown MC's when he became the Champion of The 3rd Quest for Orlando's Hottest Rapper. Playing shows throughout Florida with the live hip-hop band Tandem, as well as featured appearances on underground hip-hop station 95Live helped Tan to gain further recognition and notoriety throughout the Orlando music community. Tan later released his second self-produced audio work "Can't Wait Till Spring" with the help of other musicians and lyricists. In 2002, after the incorporation of Check Plus Productionz, Tan signed his first recording contract with label mate 0fA and they are currently in the studio recording a project that fuses elements of electronic music, hip-hop, and reggae dub under the name dubNbass.

Tan is also in the process of forming a team of musicians, producers, poets, and lyricists for information and free downloadz from Tan and 0fA as well as booking and contact information, check out the Check Plus Productionz web site @ www.checkplusmusic.com.
